Hardy

The adjective hardy means to be fearless, brave or to be able to conquer hardships.

Synonyms are strong, sturdy, tough, or rugged.

The word origins from the Middle English (mid 13th century) folhardi borrowed from fol meaning “fool” and hardi meaning “bold”. It basically means “foolishly bold or bold without judgment or moderation”.

She gives off that strong impression that makes people think she’s hardy.

Even hardy people cry too, so it’s okay to cry.

I love plants which are hardy enough to withstand freezing weather.
